The political and religious interference of the British ignites a fire in the heart of the people which started with the calling of the Dorbar of the twelve Daloi. The Dorbar was held in the bank of a sacred river of Syntu Ksiar
Calling and urge the young men of our tribe to come forward in unity to fight against the tyranny of the British.
Tradition tells us that 3 resolution was passed in the Dorbar, and whoever pass them and become successful with each of them, he would be recognised as the Leader to fight against the British.
It is said that the resolution was in term of brain and brawn, the participant was given a task to complete and peril to face. In the end, they were asked to bring a sacred plant from the bottom of the river Syntu ksiar as a symbol of victory and a blessing from the Gods
To which Kiang Nangbah was able to finish each task with dignity and valour he was chosen to be the Leader of the group of men from the different villages of the Pnar people to lead.
Kiang Nangbah knew that he can’t stand against the British with a mere sword, bows and arrows. The British at that times had guns and cannon, to which Kiang Nangbah thought that they also need guns.
Kiang Nangbah had a plan for that, to have it executed he need a man who would be a scout for them from the British canary. But to find such man who would be willing to betray the British and worked for them is a hard one
Kiang Nangbah knew that a few pnar boys were in the British canary, being the locals they were treated cruelly…
